Dr. Béatrice Le Varlet works as a consultant since 2006 in the field of in vitro studies for safety and efficacy cosmetic testing after a 17-year experience in academic research and cosmetic industry.

After Academic Dermatology & Ophthalmology Research activity (INSERM, Lyon and Paris), she joined LVMH Perfumes & Cosmetics as a senior scientist in the R&D Biology Department, and then she managed the in vitro Toxicology Laboratory. She was involved in Eye irritation and Skin tolerance Task Forces of Cosmetics Europe - The Personal Care Association for more than 10 years. She was actively involved in scientific advice for CROs or cosmetic companies. She also offers initial and continuous trainings mainly on safety assessment of cosmetics since 2014. She is strongly committed to Soltégo R&D activities as Cosmetic Director since mid-2019.

She obtained a Skin Biology Ph.D. at the University of Lyon in 1991, a Degree of Applied Toxicology of Dermocosmetic Products at the University of Bordeaux and a Degree in “Safety Assessment of Cosmetics in the EU” at the Vrije University of Brussels in 2000. She is European Registered Toxicologist, EUROTOX Expert since 2007. She has been involved in 38 scientific peer reviewed manuscripts and she acts as a reviewer for several journals in the field of dermatology and in vitro toxicology.
